There is no doubt that Clients & Profits transformed the production process for thousands of agencies, studios, and marcom departments. Its proven workflow tools standardized and simplified how jobs are tracked from proposal to final billing. These are only a small sample of our workflow innovations:
Electronic
Job Jackets, 1986
Clients & Profits invented the task-based electronic job ticket, replacing the traditional paper job jacket used in every ad agency to track their work. Our innovation was to combine estimates, schedules, traffic, job costs, and billings into a single window, allowing production managers, traffic coordinators, and account executives to track a job's progress in real-time without leaving their desk.
Smart
Lookup Lists, 1998
Before Clients & Profits, traditional agency management programs required users to memorize key codes for job numbers, task codes, and account numbers. Clients & Profits simplified data entry dramatically by opening a "lookup list" automatically when the user entered a field, such as client number or job number. These lookup list windows could be rearranged and resized for better usability. In addition, lookup lists could be sorted and new records (such as a new status code) could be added anytime, without interrupting the user's data entry.
Proposals,
2001
Since we started creating agency management software in 1986, Clients & Profits
Inc. (formerly Working Computer) has led the industry in innovating new ways
of making our software help in managing a creative business easier for people
just like you.
Status
Emails, 2001
Clients & Profits was the first agency management system to implement automatic email notifications, as well as interactive alerts, when a job's production or billing status was changed. Every status code can a custom email message. These emails instantly alerted selected staff members, such as account executives, when their jobs were completed, ready for billing, etc.
Printing
Specifications w/Auto-Ordering,
2004
Before Clients & Profits, the process of ordering printing was tedious and limited, using custom-made spreadsheet files or maybe a FileMaker template. These SALES weren't integrated with the shop's production or accounting system, and the information in them wasn't easy to share with others. Clients & Profits X made is exceptionally easy by developing a best-practices approach to specifying printing requests, standardizing the options, then making them part of the job ticket. As a bonus, purchase orders can be created with one-click by awarding the print job to the chosen vendor, who is then notified automatically by email.
Creative
Dashboard, 2004
The concept of an "information dashboard" had been around for some time, but Clients & Profits was the first to design a dashboard just for creatives. The Creative Dashboard was a one-stop-shop for a staffer's deadlines, job hot sheet and daily time card.
